Fred P. Wessells, founder of McFreditor Enterprises, has lived in the Detroit area since 1971. He holds an AA in accounting; BA in philosophy, with minors in English and psychology; MA in counseling and Ed.D. (with MBA cognate) in higher education administration.

He has been a professional editor and writer since 1972 and has served as copy editor and writer for more than a dozen magazines, a major news service, dozens of newsletters, several publishing companies and three major universities. In terms of academic editing, he has edited more than 300 dissertations and theses. He also served as managing editor of a national security magazine for more than 10 years. He is well versed in the fields of education, security, engineering, automotive, medical, general news, fiction and other areas. He has published more than 200 articles in the security field and dozens more in general news and individual profiles. He is currently writing a historical novel.
